Marie Carroll, M.S., Ph.D. Candidate - Child and Adult Psychotherapy

Marie Carroll, individual, family, and group psychotherapist, received her Masters in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Before joining the Renascence Institute International, Ms. Carroll trained in psychotherapy under Dr. David Allen at the Renascence Clinic in Arlington, Virginia and Providence Clinic in Arlington, Virginia.

Ms. Carroll also received extensive training while working as an individual and group therapist at the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, D.C. Currently Ms. Carroll is finishing her PhD in Family Psychology at Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. Ms. Carroll specialized in child and adolescent therapy during her time at Johns Hopkins, and now has focused on the entire family unit during her doctoral work.

Ms. Carroll works with children, adolescents, and adults suffering from behavioral and emotional issues, trauma, grief and bereavement, eating disorders, body image dissatisfaction, marital and family conflict, depression, anxiety, identity and esteem issues.

Gisela Allen, Dip. Psychotherapy - Child and Adult Psychotherapy

Gisela came to the Bahamas in 1971, married Dr. Ted Allen, now deceased, and they have three children. She got her training in Psychotherapy at the Paracelsus Institute in Munich, Germany and speaks German, English, and French.

Gisela joined the Renascence Institute International in September 2003 and is conducting Group and Individual Therapy for Adults and Children.

Mark Redgrave, M.S., - Individual and Group Psychotherapy,Art Therapist

Mark initially trained as an Art Therapist in 1989 having always been interested in art and wishing to share the benefits of such creativity with others. In 1995 he trained as a Psychotherapist at the University of Central England. He worked with the elderly, emotionally disturbed children, drug abusers and schizophrenics at the North Manchester General Hospital. Having attained his Masters in Psychotherapy, Mark came to the Bahamas in 1999 and worked for over a year at Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre.

Thereafter, Mark opened his private practice. He joined the Renascence Institute in 2001 and offers an integrative approach to counselling, both to individuals and groups.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys playing classical guitar and painting.

Angela J. Ward, M.S., - Psychotherapist

Angela came to the Bahamas in 1978 from Toronto, Canada. During her career as a primary school teacher she developed an interest in the theories and principles of the psychodynamic therapeutic process.

In 1985 she began to study under the guidance and expertise of Dr. David Allen. Subsequently she pursued her interest and obtained her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Capella University. She has been practicing with the Renascence Institute International since its inception.

Her areas of interest include group and individual psychotherapy with a focus on life coaching, divorce, parenting, anger, depression, and anxiety related issues. Her lectures include anger management, team building, conflict resolution and parenting principles for rearing academically and socially well-adjusted children.

She is happily married with one son. Her interests include reading, art, theatre, boating, and meetings persons of social and cultural diversity.
